In Memory of Helen J. Moe

July 16, 1923 - May 1, 2024

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother, Helen Jessie Moe of Clear Lake, WI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 1st , 2024 at the age of 100 years.

Helen was born July 16 th , 1923 in Barron County, Wisconsin to Seeley and Edna Jones. She grew up in the Hillsdale/Barron area and graduated from Barron High School in 1941. On September 8th , 1942, Helen married Elroy H. Moe. Elroy and
Helen started a family that produced 14 children. The Moe Family resided in the Rice Lake, WI area until they relocated to Clear Lake, WI in 1976.

As a passionate caregiver, Helen dedicated her life to the service of others. After “practicing” on her children, she “perfected” her skills by continuing her education in the medical field and received her CNA certification. Helen spent many years providing home health care services primarily in the Twin Cities area. Among her assignments was personal attendant to Mrs. Pillsbury in her Minnesota and Florida homes.

Helen was a loyal servant to her Lord and Savior and a dedicated prayer warrior. She spent countless hours on her knees praying for her family, her friends and her Country. She was a loyal member of the Christ Gospel Church in Blaine MN. God gave Helen a mother’s heart. She was most happy when she had a child in her arms. At age 100, with few babies to hold, she insisted on getting a puppy. Against family advice and a fair share of raised eyebrows, she pulled it off. Oh, how she adored Toby the puppy! Unfortunately, she only enjoyed the bond with, her new friend for a couple weeks before her health failed.

Helen enjoyed her afternoon board games, baseball, Jeopardy, and other game shows. She was an avid reader, kept up on current events and constantly sought to learn. She was known for her wisecracks, idioms, aphorisms, truisms, colloquialisms, and hand-me-down sayings. She had a robust sense of humor and was eager to share it.

At the date of her passing, Helen was the proud matriarch of 122 descendants.

She is survived by daughters Judy Lammers of Clear Lake and Joanie (Lyle) Sandberg of Eau Claire; sons James of Luck, WI, Jesse (Glory) of Waller TX, Steven (Colleen) of Clear Lake, Carey (Char) of New Richmond, Robert (Terri) of Clear Lake, Jon (Amy) of Plymouth, MN; and daughters-in-law, Jodi (Bud) of Barron, and Tammie (Mick) of Eau Claire. Helen is further survived by 31 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren.
